Ronda Caton is a mixed media artist based in North Texas. She uses alcohol ink on ceramic tile to capture vibrant scenes from nature.
After retiring from the public school system, Ronda now spends most of her time in the studio creating colorful art with ink and tile. She draws inspiration from native wildlife and the hundreds of animals she has cared for over the years, from big cats at Lion Country Safari to horses and cows at a local ranch.
She seeks to capture the diverse beauty of the southwest, reflecting the lush forests and rivers, the sunny coastline, and vibrant prairies domed by colorful skies. Her love of classic westerns by Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour can be seen through her more romantic pieces, and her focus on movement and color is influenced by artists like Georgia O'Keeffe, Claude Monet, and Vincent Van Gogh.
